Pelicans and Strandfeeding Dolphins have a symbiotic relationship. The pelicans frequently know exactly where the dolphins will beach to strandfeed and they frequently try to mooch some of the overflow fish! Picture taken from Seabrook Island on the shore of the Kiawah River.

I live full-time on Seabrook Island, South Carolina.   This Lowcountry hidden paradise offers a number of attractive attributes for a photographer:

  • Based on our barrier island geography, sunrises and sunsets over the water are possible 365 days a year, if you know where to go
  • A combination of ocean, estuarine, and marsh terrain provides breathtaking backdrops
  • An impressive tidal push which moves 6 to 9 feet twice a day, every piece of coastline is dynamically changing constantly, all day, every day
  • A wide variety of of native and migratory birds who stop off to nest, rest, mate or feed along our shores and in our marshes and occasionally don’t mind posing
  • Our amazing Locals,  strand feeding dolphins who give us a daily food chain demonstration straight out of NatGeo.  If you want to learn more about these amazing animals and why we are so passionate about protecting them, please check out my book, Lunchtime With Luna and the Locals.

The images in this collection represent some of my photos which have proven most popular with Seabrook Island visitors and residents.  I hope you enjoy them and I would be honored if you chose to grace the walls of your home with one of my photos. If you can’t find the perfect Seabrook Image, consider browsing the remainder of my collection.
